• "Space Weapons Could Emerge from Pentagon Budget." The Pentagon's Fiscal Year 2007 (FY07) budget request funds nearly a billion dollars in programs that could provide dual-use space weapons capabilities according to a new joint-analysis by the World Security Institutes Center for Defense Information (CDI) and the Henry L. • Glenn Baker, co-director of the World Security Institute’s Azimuth Media, has been awarded a production grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to produce “STAND UP: Muslim-American Comics Come of Age.” The one-hour documentary will be offered to PBS as part of the “America at a Crossroads” series, which will be broadcast starting in spring 2007. • New Book Preview: Col. Chet Richards (USAF, ret.), a long time contributor to CDI’s published monographs, has written a new work on 4th generation warfare, the type of conflict America has been waging, and losing, in Iraq. The monograph, Neither Shall the Sword: Conflict in the Years Ahead, will be available in January, but we are making available now, as a preview, the executive summary and the introductory chapter, December 15, 2005.
